When individuals engage in personal development, opportunities exist to build upon the learning and the relationships formed to extend and continue development in a growing community.
"I found the programme to be a life changing experience in terms of making me review my relationships and conversations.
It was a great opportunity for me to get to know my team early on in my career at the group and also exposed me to a number of new models which I have since been using in my coaching relationships and workshops.
I came to very much value the 'me time' and change of pace that the programme provided.
And most importantly I was inspired by the tutor who was a great role model for the techniques we were exploring."
This was the feedback from one participant graduating from an in-house Certificate in Performance Development Coaching programme based in Manchester.
The Centre for Performance Development is a virtual community where individuals can be supported to explore their own personal development routes, where programme participants can exchange ideas and experiences, and where new thinking is shared and challenged.
Community members will include those who have participated in the Centre’s own programmes, such as the Certificate in Performance Development Coaching, whilst others will have experienced The Beech Consultancy in an organisational context through our performance development consultancy work. Other members may include our business partners, AC members, and other similar stakeholders.
The Beech Consultancy has committed to developing this concept in a number of ways. Community members have the option to receive information, news and latest thinking through regular e-mail newsletters. Resources are available on The Beech Consultancy web site to support ongoing learning and a Forum facility enables members to exchange views and ideas.
Community members will not only have access to the range of programmes The Beech Consultancy has developed specifically for the Centre for Performance Development, but also other networks and development opportunities such as regional co-coaching forums, coaching supervision, informal learning sets, professional association membership/events, and support in exploring personal development pathways.
The development programmes which form the core of the Centre for Performance Development include:
- Certificate in Performance Development Coaching
- Diploma in Performance Development Coaching
- Developing Leadership Potential
- Certificate in Management Consulting Essentials
There are also plans to introduce other complimentary programmes in the future, but we would welcome the feedback of community members to inform our thinking around which subjects would be of most value. Current possibilities being considered include Coaching Supervision and Professional Facilitation.

The difficulty lies not so much in developing new ideas as in escaping from old ones.
