“Working with You and Your Agenda to Sustainably Shift Performance”
Who Am I as a Consultant?
I am a values-centred performance consultant. Values are both explicit and implicit in my practice, experienced through my actions, behaviours and ethics. My behaviour is a consequence of my values. I believe in a duality of responsibility to make a difference in the performance of others for their organisation – I cannot sustainably do this by myself; we have to do this together.
What’s Important to me as a Consultant?
I value being creative and holding collaborative relationships, working at these proactively and thoughtfully. My challenge to you is timely, thoughtful and works with yours and others’ interests. I am a deep and skilful listener. It’s important for me to understand you first and work with what I hear and what I notice about you, your colleagues, clients and your organisation. I understand that I may or may not be the right person for you as a consultant. I am relaxed about this as we both have the right to choose.
As a consultant I am a mature, capable and inspiring intervener, having the ability to flex and adapt my style to work effectively with people with where they are at and to enable them to be clear about where they would successfully like to be. I work and think strategically, always starting with the end in mind. In working together on the “gap” between current and desired performance, I am able to consultant, coach, facilitate, supervise, mentor, project plan and manage process – I have a versatile range of approaches to successfully intervene with.
I believe that tough and challenging work is where the best opportunity exists for change and to impact on performance. This may mean or require ambiguity or disorientation for a shift in performance to take place. Ultimately, I believe in it working out and my clients and my colleagues value me for my pace and style in providing and adding value in my work.
Having a consultancy process is important for us both – to know visibly where we are and what we each are agreeing to do separately and together. Where the need arises to work with other consultants or partners, as a principal consultant I will bring my experience as a leader to our relationship.
Finally, what’s important for me is that you really do get what you need to achieve your success and in helping to provide for this, delivers an increasing sense of self-worth, fulfilment and enjoyment for me.
